 The Red Double Decker Bus and, in particular, the Routemaster  became an iconic feature of London loved by tourists and Londoners alike as well as a design classic. The original Routemasters introduced in the 1950s have been replaced except for two heritage  routes, Numbers 9 & 13 serviced by 16 refurbished RMs. Elsewhere in the UK there are still a further 800 in use and elsewhere in the world almost another 500.The Routemaster is a hop on hop off bus with a ticket collector many of whom were some of the great characters of London and much missed.  For further information click on below.
